Jose Ramon Sanchez is Professor of Politics and Chair of Urban Studies at Long Island University – Brooklyn as well as Chair of the Board of the National Institute for Latino Policy, Inc.  He is also the author of Boricua Power: A Political History of Puerto Ricans in the U.S. (2007) and co-author of The Iraq Papers (2010).
